A man killed when his motorbike hit a tree at Herne Common has been named locally.
Jack Whichello, 20, died at the scene of the crash on the Canterbury Road at around 3.30pm yesterday.
Now friends and family will gather on Thursday to honour the life of the former MidKent College student - at the site where he lost his life.
Leaving a tribute on Facebook, Selina Whichello said: "It's with great sadness and regret to inform our friends and family, that our beloved son, brother, Jack Whichello was taken from us Sunday afternoon.
"He leaves an empty hole in our hearts, but we believe through the help of our friends and family we will be united as one and be strong together, he will be greatly missed."
The memorial gathering will be at the First and Last pub in Herne Bay at around 6.30pm.
At least 100 people are expected to attend the event, after the young biker died "doing what he loved most".
Mourners are invited to remember Jack and lay flowers or a memorial item and "pay respects to his fulfilled life".
Following the crash Kent Police said the man, from Medway, was pronounced dead at the scene and no other vehicles were involved. His bike was heading towards Canterbury.
The A291 Canterbury Road was shut to traffic in both directions after the incident, between Curtis Wood Road and Busheyfields Road.
