An elderly woman has issued a warning after a razor blade wedged in a pavement sliced through her shoe and into her foot.
Lynda Hencher, 75, fears the blade was placed between the two paving slabs in Herne Bay High Street maliciously, and is warning people to stay vigilant while out and about.
Ms Hencher, who is disabled and walks with a rollator, had been en-route to a regular volunteering job at Cancer Research yesterday afternoon when she stepped on the sharp object.
"It went straight through the bottom of my trainer and into my foot," she said.
"It made me jump. I was so angry, I really was.
"But there was nobody around to help, so I ended up pulling it out of the pavement and carrying on."
When Ms Hencher arrived at her volunteering job, her manager checked her foot but thankfully couldn't see any sign of injury.
"I did think it had drawn blood, but it hasn't," she said. "I think I moved off it quick.
"It could have gone into my foot totally, and unfortunately it's my disabled leg. I wouldn't have been very happy being off my feet."
Police say they have not had any other reports of such incidents.
But Ms Hencher believes the razor blade - which was sitting upright between two paving stones - was placed there intentionally.
She is keen to ensure other residents stay vigilant, particularly when out walking with animals or young children.
"There are so many dogs in Herne Bay," she said.
"I'm just so frightened that people don't look down when they're walking all the time - they're looking up around them at shops and things.
"I didn't see it and I put my foot straight on it.
"I've had to repair my shoe this morning because it's going to let water in now."
