A popular wildlife park is planning to reopen next week, bosses have revealed.
The Wildwood Trust, which is located between Canterbury and Herne Bay, locked its doors to visitors on March 22 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
But it has been announced that it is planning to welcome back customers on Saturday, June 6.
It will introduce a raft of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, including a booking service for families to schedule their visits in advance.
A statement from the park reads: “Wildwood’s visitor numbers each day will be strictly limited.
“Booking a timed arrival slot online is essential for us to be able to manage our visitor numbers and to reduce queues at the gates and inside the park.
“You will not need to make any payment when booking your time slot. You will pay or show your membership card at the entrance in the usual way.
“All visitors, including members, must book in advance before arriving at the gate. You may not be admitted to the park if you do not bring your booking confirmation with you.”
The park will be fitted with a temporary exit to ensure social distancing is maintained when customers leave.
Its café and shop will be closed, although takeaway food and drinks will be available, and talks have been scrapped in a bid to prevent crowds from forming.
Bosses are also urging anyone feeling unwell or experiencing a temperature not to visit Wildwood.
The statement adds: “We are currently putting in place many plans and changes so that we can provide a safe space to visit and we will be ready and safe to reopen as soon as the government says that it is safe to do so.
“We do not have a confirmed reopening date yet, but we will have everything in place to be able to reopen on June 5.
“We are planning to host a members-only day as a thank you for your continued support and loyalty to Wildwood during these difficult times.
“On Saturday, June 6, we are planning to be open for all visitors.”
Wildwood will also be open in the evenings from 6pm until 9pm for animal lovers over the age of 16.
