A woman has been charged following a disturbance on a school bus that left pupils who witnessed it being offered support by their school.
The incident in Broomfield, near Herne Bay, reportedly took place last Wednesday after a trio of adults - two women and a man - boarded the 921, which was travelling from the Spires Academy in Sturry.
One of the women was later seen covered in blood, having suffered injuries thought to have been self-inflicted with a knife, before three people were detained at the scene.
The injured woman was passed into the care of healthcare professionals, while a 24-year-old has been bailed pending further investigations.
Another woman, Bethany Lee, 22, of no fixed abode, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly.
She is due to appear before Margate Magistrates' Court on December 3.
Passers-by reportedly saw a number of police and paramedics near the bus stop outside the former Plough Inn in Hunters Forstal Road following the incident last week.
'Public transport is a safe way to travel, and incidents such as this are extremely unusual.'
Concerned parents took to Facebook to question how the adults were allowed to board the bus, with one describing the incident as "terrifying".
Another posted on social media: "This is awful. School buses should be for kids only.
"This is a safeguarding issue surely."
It was revealed at the time by officers that they were liaising with Spires Academy, which is near Canterbury, to ensure any youngsters who witnessed the incident received "appropriate support".
A Stagecoach spokesman stresses there were "no reports of any harm or injury to any other passengers travelling on this school-time service".
He also says two PCSOs travelled on the route the following day to "reassure children who use this bus".
"There was a disturbance on the number 921 bus on Wednesday which resulted in the arrest of three individuals," he added.
"Our driver was able to ensure that these individuals were not on the bus when the police arrived at the scene.
