Skipper Liam Quinn picked up two awards at Herne Bay’s presentation night.

The defender won the Players’ and Supporters’ Player-of-the-Year trophies, while fellow defender Gary Sayer claimed the Manager's Player-of-the-Year prize from Sam Denly.

The boss said: “Gary has been outstanding this season and been an unsung hero for us.

“He is a quality centre-half who reads the game so well, always give us eight or nine out of 10 every week and rarely has a poor game.”

Sam Hasler won the Goal-of-the-Season award for his spectacular free-kick winner at Corinthian Casuals in March.

Bay’s under-21s missed out on capping a fine season, losing 3-2 against Cray Wanderers in the NRG GYM under-21 Development League Championship play-off final at Sevenoaks on Saturday.

Jake Page and Connor Partridge's late penalty were Bay's scorers - the Winch's Field youngsters finishing with 10-men after Newman Poku was sent off.

Denly said: “It was a shame, Alan Bircham and the boys have done well and there is plenty of potential there.

“They and the under-18s will get their opportunity in pre-season and it’s up to them to take it, the ball is in their court.”
