Sun hold nerve in shoot-out win

Normal time failed to separate Rising Sun and Swan and Harlequin

Teams from the Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League competed in various cup comeptitions last weekend.

In the Fletcher Memorial Cup, leaque leaders Rising Sun were given a tough test by Swan and Harlequin, who are themselves still riding high in the Premier Division.

In a game of few chances Riser took the lead when Andy Martin’s penalty struck the woodwork only for Gary Pullen to tuck it away. Swan levelled through Nicky Scott and after extra time had failed to separate the sides Rising Sun held their nerve in the shootout, edging through 4-3.
