Herne Bay joint-manager John Embery is pleased a number their players have signed contracts for next season.
Eight players; Bradley Schafer, Jake Embery, Tom Carlton, Alex Mulrooney-Skinner, Danny Leonard, Raphe Brown, Ben Hunter, and Connor Wilkins, have agreed contracts to stay with Bay.
Planning is already well under-way for Embery and Jermaine Darlington for next season in the Bostik South.
Embery said: “We have eight players signed on new contracts now and have offered a couple more to players.
“We have retained the people we want to and are hoping to bring a couple more players in.
“For the next season Herne Bay is going to be a great place to be. The fans have really enjoyed it this year and we have played football in the right way.”
Herne Bay ended their season with a 1-0 win at home to Greenwich Borough, who finished in a play-off place.
They were 12th in the table, a finish that Embery was satisfied with and wants to build on that in the 2018/19 season.
He said: “We played against two teams in the play-off places in the last two games of the season and played them off the park.
“We knew we were good enough for the play-offs but we are happy with the overall league position.
“It has been a very good season for us considering the young side we had but there’s always a little bit of disappointment when you look back at a few of those games where you should have taken points.
“Next season will be interesting as the players have a bit more experience and know their strength and weaknesses. We have to be more professional in games though.”
