Herne Bay moved up to eighth spot in Ryman League Division 1 South after a 2-1 win over high-flying Corinthian Casuals.

Stuart King struck early to give them the lead after just three minutes, and then doubled the lead 16 minutes later.

It stayed that way until 20 minutes before time when Lee Hall pulled one back from the spot for the away side, but Bay hung on for all three points.

In the same division, Ramsgate were on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline at home to league new boys South Park.

They were 3-0 at half-time thanks to a Chris Smith double and a David Smith strike.

Rams netted a late consolation through Connor Heffernan.
