Visit The Hoxton in Shoreditch, London, for character, class and cocktails.

If you’re a young professional with a penchant for cocktails, you may have already visited the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, if not it’s about time you did.

The hotel, in the creative heart of London, oozes character and class and is a popular haunt on Great Eastern Street.

Decorated with contemporary panels of art and statement furnishings, you’ll be tempted to stay indoors rather than explore the wonders of the capital.

The lobby transforms from a casual coffee lounge in the day, which is an ideal place to read and watch the world go by, into a booming bar and grill at night.

This eatery serves classic American dishes and cocktails from 7pm until 2am, with DJs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in the bar.

After a long day of shopping or sightseeing, get comfy in one of the red leather booths and be served by the very attentive waitresses.

For a more sophisticated experience, ask to be seated in the courtyard, which has a retractable roof for the summer months.

The cocktail menu is vast and adventurous and the staff are more than happy to make recommendations and even explain the meaning behind the names.

As you travel upstairs, you’ll see the corridors are mood-lit by Isometrix lighting so that each floor has its own colour.

The door frames have aluminium edges which are sharp and smart, giving off an industrial warehouse feel, which works.

Each of the 208 rooms has white cotton bed linen, duck down duvets and pillows, air conditioning, a flat screen television, power shower, soap and hair products and tea and coffee making facilities.

Take advantage of the 24 hour room and concierge service, one hour of local or international calls and a free light breakfast bag, delivered to the hook outside your door, at your chosen time.

The bedroom decor is simple, but luxurious.

The oversized round mirror is the centrepiece, enhancing the room’s size, mounted on glossy wall paper and matched with a stylish blue leather headboard, vintage arm chair and quirky cushions.

The Hoxton has cherry-picked 75 recommendations, including bars, pubs, clubs, art and music venues, shops, markets and spas.
