A hero bus controller helped save a passenger's life after she became ill while travelling in Hythe.

On the Stagecoach route 16 bus, from Canterbury to Hythe, a passenger alerted the driver to a woman becoming unwell.

The driver pulled over in Sandgate and the duty controller, Kieran Greig, who was at the bus depot in Folkestone, was alerted.

He arrived at the scene within six minutes and performed CPR on the woman for eight minutes, until paramedics arrived.

The woman was taken away in an ambulance, but not before crews said it was highly likely Keiren had help save her life.

He has now been praised by his boss for his heroic actions.

Ian Loftus, Stagecoach operations manager at Folkestone said: "We're incredibly proud of our duty controller, Kieran, who having been trained in first aid was faced with having to put that training in to practice after a passenger became ill travelling on a bus towards Hythe last Thursday evening.

'Kieran is particularly humble but deserves credit for his heroic actions...'

"Having been alerted to the situation, Kieran left his post at the bus station and attended the scene rapidly to carry out lifesaving treatment while waiting for the ambulance.

"Kieran is particularly humble but deserves credit for his heroic actions - well done Kieran."
