A historic high-street pub has been listed on the market for £325,000, six months after its closure.
Listed on Rightmove with agents Christie & Co, The Globe Inn, in Hythe is being described as an opportunity for “a well-placed free house, restaurant or conversion to a number of alternative uses”.
The site is located at the western end of the high street, close to the A259.
The boozer, which dates back to the 16th century, has a number of features including a dining area, a rear courtyard garden and a three-bedroom owner’s accommodation.
Shepherds Neame announced it was closing down in February, claiming it "no longer fit business needs" for the brewery.
Punters often enjoyed live music and events on Saturday nights and expressed their sadness at the closure.
It had won the Shepherd Neame ‘Beer Hero’ prize in 2016.
The Globe now joins a growing list of pubs and businesses being put on the market.
At the other end of Hythe high street, The Butt Of Sherry has also been listed.
As well as this, four historic village pubs across east Kent were put up for sale last month.
The sale of the establishments, in Dover, Monkton, Bridge and Brook, near Ashford, has been described as a “great shame”, with high inflation rates blamed.
