Hythe Venetian Fete returns to Hythe this evening with Chelsea Pensioners as VIPs and BBC filming it for documentary

Thousands of people will flock to the banks of the Royal Military Canal tonight for the Hythe Venetian Fete.
The sun is out and there promises to be a huge carnival atmosphere in the town with entertainment kicking off at 5pm.
Gates will be open from 4pm with activities running right through until 10pm with a firework display crowning the evening.
About 30 decorated floats will sail down the canal and the festival will also feature music, a funfair and fireworks display.
The fete also has its own specially brewed ale called Fete Accompli by West Hythe brewers, Hopfuzz Brewery.
Twelve Chelsea Pensioners will be VIP guests and BBC will be filming for its TV documentary Secret Britain.
Music from the Hythe Town Concert Band starts the evening at 4.30pm followed by performances from L & A Poperinge Band and St Hildas Ukulele Band on the water.
The Mayor will arrive on his tableau at 6.45pm towed by the Folkestone & Hythe Sea Cadets.
The fete will be officially opened at 7pm with the fireworks going off at 8.50pm.
