Man charged with wounding with intent after incident at Reachfields estate in Hythe

Police have charged a man with wounding with intent after being called to a housing estate in Hythe on Saturday.

Richard Francis Payne, 35, was arrested after the incident in the Reachfields estate shortly after 8.30am.

Police and ambulances had been called to the scene and a woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with an injury which is not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Payne is currently being remanded in custody, and could appear before a virtual court tomorrow to answer the charge.
