Twins trapped in house fire

Smoke billows from the house on fire in Seabrook

A teenage girl is in a serious condition in hospital following a fire in Hythe at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a house in Hampton Vale just after 11am on Sunday, where 15 year old twin sisters were trapped inside a blazing home.

They were both rescued and taken to hospital. One is in a serious but not critical condition.

A police officer who helped with the rescue was also taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Four fire engines attended the blaze. The cause is being investigated by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Kent Police.
