KENT Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash on the A20 near Hythe.

Police say a white BMW was being driven towards Ashford when the driver did a U-turn. A red Honda 900 Fireblade motorcycle travelling in the same direction collided with the car as its driver carried out the manoeuvre.

The motorcycle rider, a man from Dover, was taken to the Ashford's William Harvey Hospital where he later died. The victim has not yet been named.

The crash happened at about 11.40am on Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Crash Investigation Unit on 01622 600970. An inquest will be held.
