Emergency crews were called amid fears of a blaze in a block of flats last night.
Two fire engines were sent to Hillside Street in Hythe at around 8.20pm on Saturday night after reports of smoke at the flats.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported. It is believed the fire was started accidentally and has been linked to an electrical fault.
Crews were stood down just before 11.30pm.
