Filming for Paramount series, The Serial Killer’s Wife moves to Saltwood after completing scenes in Folkestone

Film crews have descended on several locations to film a new Paramount TV series.

Residents in Saltwood near Hythe have received a letter about The Serial Killer’s Wife being filmed in various locations in the village over the next two weeks.

The series will be based off the book written by Alice Hunter, with the Daily Mail describing the story as “a stunning debut which richly deserves to be a hit”.

Filming kick-started at 8am today on The Green and in Rectory Way and is expected to continue for the rest of the week, until 6pm most days.

Crews are expected to use a restaurant in The Green as well as properties in the heart of the village.

The letter states traffic management will be in place with a stop-and-go system that will hold vehicles for up to two minutes at a time.

It also says most of the crews' vehicles will be parked down Rectory Lane in the church's car park but may drive to filming locations to load some equipment and return to the car park as quickly as possible.

Crews have vowed to keep disruption to a minimum with no entrances of accesses being blocked.

“We fully understand and appreciate that we are privileged to film in Saltwood and we do not take for granted the support we are shown from residents and businesses for which we are hugely grateful,” the letter says.

Crews were seen last Monday in Church Road in Folkestone turning the street into a “crime scene” for the series, but it has since been confirmed this was also for The Serial Killer’s Wife.

A police car and a forensics van were pictured in the residential street with production crews also snapped setting up black tents in the front gardens of two houses on the opposite side of the road near Cheriton Primary School.

Residents also reported seeing film crews at The Warren on Thursday and along the seafront on Tuesday.
