Restaurant waiting staff went straight into action after an elderly customer collapsed.

Paramedics were called to Coppers Spice Cafe & Wine Bar in Prospect Road in Hythe at 8.10pm on Saturday after the woman lost consciousness.

Witnesses said a waitress at the Indian restaurant performed CPR to revive the woman who had been waiting to be seated at a table.

Paramedics were called, and she is believed to have regained consciousness by the time they had arrived.

They then took her to the William Harvey Hospital for further checks.
