Firefighters were called to a motorway crash between a car and a lorry.
The accident happened on the coastbound M20 between Junctions 10 and 11 at 1.30pm today.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service says that nobody was trapped in the vehicles but crews had to stop leaking from the lorry’s damaged fuel tank.
Folkestone Fire Station watch manager Vic Thorogood said: “We were able to plug it in time before too much spilled. WE soaked up what came out with absorbent material.’’
Two fire engines, from the Ashford and Folkestone stations, were called out and the Highways Agency later took over the incident.
