A man will appear at Medway Magistrates Court today following a series of crimes in Hythe.
Anthony Charles Foord, of Reachfields, Hythe, has been charged with two counts of assault, attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, burglary other than dwelling and shoplifting.
The 35-year-old is to answer the charges which relate to an assault on a man in Portland Road, Hythe on September 22 and an attempted robbery of a victim in the town's Mount Street on November 14.
Foord is also in court in connection with a burglary at Owlets Jewellers in Hythe High Street on November 16, where a door was smashed and jewellery taken, as well as for an assault and shoplifting, which was reported at Sainsbury's in Military Road, Hythe, on the same day.
Following the break-in at Owlets the owner, celebrity antiques dealer Alison Chapman, who has appeared on David Dickinson's Real Deal, launched a Facebook appeal to catch the burglar.
