A man wanted for murder for 19 years has been extradited back to Lithuania following an arrest by Kent Police.
Viadotas Misiulis had been hunted by Interpol since 2003, when he travelled to the UK shortly before he was due to stand trial in Lithuania for his alleged involvement in a gang-related killing.
The 39-year-old is also accused of grievous bodily harm, robbery and fraud.
He is believed to have moved to England under the fake name Donatas Soblevicius, got married, had two children and bought a house in Hythe.
Misiulis’ wife Alge, 37, was shocked to learn of her husband’s arrest.
“I didn’t know anything about this," she told MailOnline.
"The police came a few weeks ago to say they wanted him for parking tickets and that’s it.
“The next thing I heard he was arrested and in a cell."
Officers took Misiulis into custody at about 1pm on July 29 after spotting him driving through Ashford, and performing a tactical stop.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed Misiulis appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court on charges of murder, robbery, GBH and fraud on July 30.
After initially disputing his status as a wanted man, Misiulis later agreed to be extradited and has now been sent back to Lithuania where he awaits trial.
