Hythe swimming pool will be closed until at least next Monday while essential repairs are carried out.

The building's roof was damaged during the weekend's storms and leaks were discovered.

The necessary work has been arranged for the weekend with the pool expecting to reopen again on Monday, July 28.

The South Road facility is run by Shepway District Council.

A spokesman for the council said: "We regret the loss of this service even for a short period and would like to apologise to everyone who uses the pool for any inconvenience caused by the action. The safety of people using the pool is always our first priority."
