Person taken to hopsital after two-vehicle crash on the A259 Dymchurch Road, Hythe

A person has been taken to hospital after being freed from a car following a two-vehicle crash.

The A259 Dymchurch Road in Hythe was closed in both directions following the incident in Princes Terrace, near to the junction with Martello Drive.

Police were called to the scene at 10.10am and said the road will remain closed between Aldi and Martello Drive while the incident is responded to.

It has now been reopened.

A witness told KentOnline: “The collision involved two cars and one was completely on its side.

“It looks like a really nasty one.”

A spokesperson for the fire services said: “Three fire engines attended, and crews helped release one person trapped who was handed into the care of SECamb paramedics.”

The ambulance service has confirmed that a person has now been taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further treatment following the incident.
