Planning was approved for the eye-catching home - which includes a triple garage and landscaped gardens - in August 2023.

The site was once home to High Meadow house, which was gutted by a fire in 2020.

It was demolished when approval was granted last year and, along with the Georgian-style manor, work began on two smaller homes within the grounds.

While currently unfinished, the eventual new owners will be able to enjoy a brand-new house complete with sea views and private gated access. It has gone on the market at £2.2 million.

Sarah Holgate, associate director for estate agents Hobbs Parker, said: “In my view, this is going to be one of the most impressive houses in the area.”

Architects firm Hollaway Studio is also responsible for iconic buildings across east Kent such as the Rocksalt restaurant and the F51 skate park in Folkestone.

The listing continues: “Georgian and Art Deco influences combine with a 21st century specification to establish one of the most magnificent and prestigious new homes in this highly desirable area.”

It praises Saltwood’s “pretty” village green and church, as well as Michelin-starred restaurant Hide and Fox. The average property price in Sandling Road is more than £1 million.

High Meadow house went up in flames on November 18, 2020.

Four fire engines were called to the scene, and two people were treated by paramedics.

The family living there lost all their possessions in the blaze, and dad David and daughter Bronte had to jump from a balcony.

After planning permission was granted, the plot was sold for £1.1 million - half the price tag of the completed home.
