Firefighters battled for two hours against a blaze at an old trout fisheries building.
Crews were called out at 10pm last night to the scene at the Seabrook end of Horn Street.
The fire in the disused property had begun from inside and spread to the roof.
Three fire engines and one height vehicle attended and a quarter of the building was damaged by the flames.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service say that the cause of the blaze is so far unknown.
