A woman driver had to be flown to hospital after a road smash this morning.
The victim was trapped in her car after the two-car crash at the A20 Ashford Road in Newingreen.
Emergency services were called to the scene incident at about 7.40am.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters helped paramedics release the woman from one of the cars.”
Police say that the victim had to be airlifted to a London hospital and the a man driving the other car was treated at a scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Three land ambulances attended along with the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
A SECAmb spokesman said: “A woman aged approximately 30 years old was treated at the scene for injuries including abdomen pain before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital.
“Other patients were also checked at the scene but didn’t require hospital treatment.”
Two fire engines, from Folkestone and Hythe, were called out and the crews also made the scene safe.
The road was closed for nearly three hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
