Hythe Town are aiming to finish the job in the FA Cup tonight.
The Cannons let slip a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at Abbey Rangers in Saturday’s extra preliminary round tie.
Lex Allan and new signing Bruno Tavares put them in charge but mistakes were punished as Rangers secured a Tuesday night replay at Reachfields (7.45pm).
The winners go to Hanworth Villa in the preliminary round on August 17.
“Hopefully we can finish the job,” said assistant boss Darren Beale.
“We’ve had a good look at Abbey Rangers over the 90 minutes and we’ve identified some areas we feel we can exploit.
“That will be passed over to the lads if they don’t know it already and hopefully that can be put into practice on Tuesday night and we can get ourselves into the next round.”
Hythe were looking good to beat Abbey at the first attempt before allowing the hosts back into the game.
Beale said: “We started well, it’s just a shame it couldn’t continue it, but it’s nice to be back playing competitive football again.
“We did all right, to be fair, although we obviously weren’t pleased with the result.
“When you’re in the ascendancy you’ve got to kill teams off. That’s something we didn’t do.
“At 2-0 up we’ve hit the post and had numerous opportunities but 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline, as everyone says.
“We knew if we got the third that’s more or less game over but fair play to them, they’re a decent outfit, they worked hard and got themselves back in it, albeit from our mistakes.
“That’s what was so frustrating, it was more our mistakes as opposed to them being a better side for the period of the game.”
