Hythe Town are heading into the transfer market ahead of back-to-back Kent derbies against Herne Bay and Sittingbourne.

Dave Cook and James Morrish both start three-match bans this weekend, leaving Cannons boss Tim Dixon short in midfield.

Dixon expects to have a new loan signing in his squad for the visit of Bay on Saturday, having decided not to appeal the red card Cook was shown against Chipstead.

He said: "It’s hard. You don’t want to lose both players because it leaves a bit of a hole and I’m trying to plug that hole.

"It’s very difficult at this time in the season because not many people are letting players go.

"But I’ve got a couple of contacts and I’ll see if they can help me out.

"I’ll definitely have someone before Saturday, even if it’s a one-month loan deal.

"It’s a massive blow to be without Cooky and Morrish. We were going to appeal but there were four or five different opinions when we watched the video back. It’s not malicious but the people at the FA would see the arm go across his face.

"Dave wasn’t looking at the man, he jumped for the ball and their guy didn’t help because he went down holding the other side of his face than what he was hit on."
