Hythe Town sign off their season at Chipstead on Saturday knowing they could finish as high as 13th or as low as 18th.
A controversial home defeat to Walton & Hersham last weekend saw the Cannons drop to 15th in Ryman League Division 1 South going into the final round of fixtures.
Chipstead are one of three sides who can overtake Hythe in the final standings and manager Tim Dixon is anxious not to finish in the bottom third.
He said: "All of a sudden, from possibly finishing 12th, because of the closeness in that area of the table, we could drop to 18th.
"Dropping six places in two games would be hard to take because it doesn’t look good – and it’s not what we deserve. We deserve a mid-table finish because of the run we went on after New Year.
"I said to the lads after the Folkestone game (on Easter Monday) that I wanted to win our last three games.
"We did the job in Guernsey and deserved something on Saturday but when the referee is against you and luck’s against you, you can’t do much about it.
"I want to win the last game because you take momentum forward and I want to end on a positive note.
"Before the Guernsey game, we hadn’t been at our best but we’ve turned it around a little bit.
"I’m looking for us to finish the season positively and we go to Chipstead with nothing to lose."
