Sam Denly has added two more players to his Hythe Town squad who he believes can make a real impact.

Jack Sammoutis and Junior Aikhionbare have signed from Walton Casuals and Greenwich Borough respectively. They are both players who Denly has been tracking for some time.

He said: “We are pleased to get Jack Sammoutis and Junior Aikhionbare on board.

“They are two good players and I have tried to sign them both previously.

“Jack is one of the best forwards in the league and he joins us from Walton Casuals who won promotion last year. He’s excited about the future at Hythe.

“I know Junior from when he was at Carshalton Athletic. He then played against us earlier in the season for Herne Bay and is a player I have always liked. I tried to sign him last year and we just couldn’t get the deal over the line.

“I’m trying to sign players who will have an impact on the squad and improve us from last year.

“I’m bringing in players who I know will make a difference and are also the right calibre of person.”

Hythe have also been boosted by the news that Mitchell Chapman has committed to the club for next season.

He has made 45 appearances and scored twice since joining from Ebbsfleet United.

Denly said: “I’m pleased Mitchell has agreed to stay and he’s looking forward to coming back in pre-season.

“We want to keep everyone together from last season as we feel like we have a bit of unfinished business.

“We have a few players coming down in pre-season on trial and there could be one or two more before the start of the season.

“I like to get my business done early and I’m happy with how the squad is shaping up at the moment.”

Hythe have also announced their pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2018/19 season: July 10 at home to Dover, July 14 at home to Dorking Wanderers, July 17 at Lydd Town, July 21 at home to Crawley Down Gatwick, July 24 at home to Canterbury City, August 4 at Tilbury.
