Clive Cook says Hythe Town are full of confidence going into a big Bostik South double-header.

The Cannons climbed to fourth with a 3-0 win at Faversham on Tuesday which extended their unbeaten league run to six matches.

Now come two home games against teams also in the play-off positions, Carshalton on Saturday and Greenwich Borough on Tuesday.

It’s been more than a month since Hythe played at Reachfields but they’ve travelled well, taking 10 of a possible 12 points on the road.

Cook said: “You’re only as good as your last game and now we’ve got two really big games, Carshalton and Greenwich, who nicked an equaliser in the 95th minute on Tuesday.

“They’re always going to be good but I’m looking forward to Saturday first. Let’s get Saturday on the road and we’re at home, so I’m looking forward to it.

“We’ve got a lot of confidence at the moment. We’re buzzing and that’s what wins do.

“Don’t forget, we haven’t played a home game for goodness knows how long. That was the sixth (away game) on the spin but we’re in a good place at the minute.”

Dean Grant gave Hythe the lead at Faversham in first-half stoppage-time before the visitors took control in the second half. Kieron Campbell scored one and set up another for Ryan Johnson as the Cannons beat their Kent rivals for the third time this season.

Cook said: “I didn’t think we were very good in the first half, we did enough but to score on top of half-time was good. It was a great delivery and a great header.

“They way Faversham set up, they’re always going to be good. I rate them and I still think they’ll be there or thereabouts. It’s a good set-up and they’re a good side.

“They were missing a few players on Tuesday but you’ve just go to beat what’s in front of you.

“Both wide players, Kieron and Ryan Palmer, came into the game more. I thought they both had excellent games.

“In the second half, we were clinical. Up top we’re good, RJ scored a great goal from Kieron’s run and 3-0, I’d have taken that all day long.”
