Tim Dixon has admitted his future as Hythe Town manager will be in doubt unless results improve in the next few weeks.

The Cannons collapsed to a 7-1 FA Cup defeat at Ebbsfleet on Saturday and lost 2-0 at home to Whyteleafe in Ryman League Division 1 South on Tuesday night. They remain second-bottom, having won just two of their 12 league games so far.

Dixon, who succeeded Scott Porter as Hythe boss in May, is still optimistic but he knows how important the next month will be for the club and for him.

He said: "I know there’s enough quality here but we have to do things better – the management team and the players.

"I don’t think the board can do any more for me. They’ve been fantastic but we’re not giving them a good enough return at the moment. That might cost me my job.

"I have got time to get it right, the board have said that already. But it doesn’t help me.

"I’m the sort of manager and was the sort of player that has a lot of pride and want to give it 100%. If I feel I’m not giving it 100%, I’ll walk away. If I feel I can’t get 100% from my players, I’ll walk away.

"At the moment, there’s enough there. We know where we’ve got to put it right but the proof will be in the pudding in the next few weeks. If it’s not, then it’ll be down the highway for me."

Hythe are away to South Park on Saturday.
