Hythe Town have the play-offs in their sights as the new Ryman League campaign gets under way this weekend.
Cannons boss Tim Dixon, in his second season at Reachfields, knows he must improve on last season’s 16th-placed finish in Division 1 South.
The first of Hythe’s 46 league fixtures is away to South Park on Saturday and as far as Dixon is concerned, the objective for 2015/16 is crystal clear.
"My aim is the play-offs," he said. "We’re a little bit off winning the league, there are a few stronger teams than us but we’re in a better place than we were.
"Personally, I thought it would take two or three years to get where we want to be.
"If we’re in the top 10 at the turn of the year, we’ll be in a good place in terms of getting a play-off spot.
"It was very difficult last year. There were so many problems thrown at us and there were difficult situations we found ourselves in that we had to overcome.
"This year, it’s a lot more stable. We were a very inexperienced side last year but this year, we’ve got a bit more about us."
