Trevor Kennett is the new chairman of Hythe Town.
Mr Kennett was chairman of Hythe's county rivals Herne Bay until March, when he resigned 'following a disagreement regarding the wishes of directors and the management committee in relation to an internal disciplinary matter'.
Previous Hythe chairman John Dowsett stepped down from the role in December for personal reasons, having only succeeded Paul Markland – now Hythe’s president – as chairman last April.
Club director David Skeel has filled in as acting chairman since then.
Mr Kennett's first job at Reachfields will be to appoint a new manager, following the resignation of Scott Porter last week.
He told the club's website: "I am personally very much looking forward to being part of the new Hythe Town family and to a positive Ryman League campaign next season."
Hythe expect to appoint their new manager at the start of next week.
