Boss Steve Watt hailed a "special group of players" as Hythe bid to take the Isthmian South East play-off race the distance.
The Cannons continued their fine form with back-to-back wins over Easter.
They won 4-1 at Burgess Hill on Saturday through Frannie Collin’s double and goals from Ethan Smith and Jason Fregene.
And Watt's men backed it up with Johan Caney-Bryan scoring the only goal in a 1-0 Easter Monday victory over Faversham, relegating their opponents in the process.
Hythe have reeled off four straight wins since losing to Ashford at the end of last month.
They sit seventh, a point behind Cray Valley, who occupy the final play-off spot, but have played a game more than the Millers.
Hythe probably need to win their final two games to stand a chance of finishing in the play-offs and you wouldn’t put it past them.
They visit VCD on Saturday (3pm) and finish at home to Haywards Heath the following weekend - two sides trying to avoid the relegation play-offs.
“All we can do is try and take it to the wire,” said Watt.
“People say we have the easiest run-in but I don’t agree - I have the utmost respect for VCD and Haywards Heath.
“Whatever happens, this is a really special group of players for what they’ve done and what we’ve been up against.
“We’re not supposed to be doing what we’re doing but we’re up there with a chance of making the play-offs.
“Monday was our 20th game since the start of January, which is a lot of games in a short space of time, and we’ve won 13 of those.
"Honestly, I can’t speak highly enough of this group. They’ve found a way to get the job done, whether that be blowing a couple of teams away, as we’ve done recently, or scoring last-minute winners and having to dig deep.
“Whatever we’ve needed to do, we’ve done and that’s why I don’t think they get enough credit.
“There’s one player left from last year - Liam Smith, the captain - so it’s a side built from scratch.
“Lots of people thought we were done after we lost to Ashford, people in our own building, but I never thought that.
“I said we were more than capable of rattling off five wins on the bounce.
“We’ve got four of the five but we’re probably going to need to go one better and make it six.
“Even that might not be enough but we’d certainly be unlucky not to get in the play-offs if we got 67 points.
“Sixty-six got you in last year and I thought it would be lower this year where the league is a lot tighter and the points have been share around more but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be."
While Hythe raced into a three-goal half-time lead at East Grinstead, the Faversham game was more of a battle.
Once again they prevailed, completing the double over the Lilywhites with another 1-0 victory.
“We were back to normal on Monday - a 1-0 slug-fest,” said Watt. “We weren’t quite at it.
“I said to the boys before the game it’s never easy to get six points over Easter, no matter who you’re playing, and it showed.
"I thought we were flat, we looked a bit tired, but we battled well and fought tooth and nail to get a result."
