There’s a change at the top for Isthmian League side Hythe Town.
Paul Markland has quit as chairman and has been replaced with immediate effect by Mark Jenner.
Jenner has previously been chairman of both Ashford United and Folkestone Invicta and for the past five years has been on the board at Hythe.
The club said: “Paul Markland had decided to stand down as chairman having devoted many years to the role in order to pursue other interests but will remain at the club as Honorary President and keen supporter.”
Hythe managed to play just six games of their 2020/21 season and are now looking ahead to a new season after the current one was declared null and void.
They will be doing it with a new chairman and a statement from the Reachfields club said it remained uncertain as to how many of the squad are to retained.
Hythe added that the whole board were optimistic that the club’s recent success on the pitch could be continued.
