Qualification for the play-offs is the aim for Shaun Welford next season after he committed his future to Hythe Town.
Welford signed a new deal at Reachfields on his 36th birthday having netted 10 goals in 17 appearances since rejoining the Cannons in January.
The striker followed Scott Porter out of the club a year ago but had no hesitation accepting manager Tim Dixon’s offer to wear the all-red again next season.
Welford said: "Tim’s such a nice man. He’s one of the good blokes in football, a pleasure to work for.
"He knows what he wants to do and he’s tried to get the best squad together.
"He had his hands tied before but now we can push on. He’s already pointed out his objective – to at least make the play-offs - and he’s got the backing of the board.
"The club’s got some good players and they create lots of chances, which suits me.
"My goal ratio’s good here and long may it continue."
