140 redundancies after print firm folds

MORE than 100 jobs have been lost following the closure of Tonbridge printing firm TTB Hickies.

A total of 140 staff have been made redundant from two sites operated by the company TTB Binders in Sovereign Way and TTB Print Finishers in Morley Way.

"Difficult trading conditions" were blamed for the demise of the 30-year-old business. Tonbridge administrators Vantis were called in on January 27.

A spokesman for the company said: "Unfortunately turnover had decreased in the last few years. There is some interest from buyers which is being pursued at the current time."
