INSIGHT Recruitment Solutions was launched when its directors decided that modern technology and new working practises could be used to give recruitment consultants a level of freedom and quality of life previously missing in the industry.

Matt Knowles and Shirley Jones - who have more than 25 years of experience in recruitment - have created the company that lets its consultants work from home when they prefer, or from new offices in early 2007.

Mr Knowles said: "The benefits to consultants mean that they are not forced to commute needlessly to a central office, which can be as distracting as it is productive.

"We wanted to work with well-connected consultants, with a mature attitude and genuinely strong work ethic and then give them complete freedom to work the hours and in the way that best suited them, but with the support of a strong brand and like-minded colleagues."

With a greater awareness of long hours, work-related stress and that illusive 'work/life balance' there is an increasing acceptance in the UK of the benefits of flexible working practises and arrangements.

Insight have already secured agreements with some of the country's leading FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients as well as businesses in Kent and south London. It is looking to expand their business with new consultant opportunities in 2007.
