BUDGET airline EUjet has dropped Madrid and Glasgow from its list of destinations after a review of passenger demand.

The Manston-based airline say from next week both destinations will no longer be available and they have also postponed plans to fly to Cologne.

The airline, which began flying from Kent last September, says the moves are in response to passenger demand.

EUjet commercial director Stuart McGoldrick said: "Of our original 26 destinations for summer 2005, we are dropping two and holding back on the launch of a third. These moves are in response to passenger demand.

"From February 15 we will no longer be flying to Madrid, one of nine destinations we go to in Spain. We will also be discontinuing flights to Glasgow and have decided to postpone the planned launch of flights to Cologne.

"We can only fly people where they want to go. Edinburgh, for example, has proved very popular, Glasgow has not.

"Summer 2005 destinations from Kent International Airport are now Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast, Budapest, Cologne, Dublin, Edinburgh, Faro, Glasgow, Girona (Barcelona), Ibiza, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Murcia, Newcastle, Nice, Parma de Mallorca, Prague, Seville, Shannon and Valencia.

"Passengers who have already booked are being offered a full refund or an alternative route."
