Plans to expand Kent airports could be buffeted by any proposal to add a second runway at Gatwick.

Gatwick owner BAA has been ordered by the Competition Commission to sell the terminal, and is reported to have sent a confidential memorandum to potential bidders outlining "secret" plans for a second runway.

A second runway at Gatwick has long been on the cards, but under an agreement between BAA and West Sussex County Council, it was not due to have been built before 2019.
