When it comes to food, America sure knows how to indulge. The country is renowned for hearty, great-tasting dishes inspired by a melting pot of different cultures.

Based on Sheerness High Street on the Isle of Sheppey, Arizona Diner and Cocktail Bar specialises in American cuisine, with a comprehensive menu dedicated to all the crowd favourites – everything from juicy burgers, loaded fries, giant steaks and hot dogs through to pancakes, waffles and much more. Founders and business partners Muzo Tasdogan and Mez Quaye opened Arizona Diner eight years ago. They felt that Sheerness needed a restaurant that served different dishes from the other restaurants in town and wanted to bring good food at a reasonable and affordable price to the area.

Since then, Arizona Diner has grown in popularity, building an excellent reputation amongst Sheppey locals and visitors alike. To keep up with customer demand, earlier this year, it underwent an extension and full refurbishment.

The huge makeover saw the restaurant double in size, with its interiors transformed to offer a more contemporary, stylish feel that is in keeping with the American theme. The food menu saw lots of new additions, including more options for vegetarians, and cocktails were also introduced.

Food is served all through the day and there’s something for everyone – whether you’re after breakfast, lunch, dinner or a light bite. Breakfast is available until 3pm and includes a whopping 10 choices, including the Sheppey Breakfast, Mega Breakfast and Turkish Breakfast, while omelettes, sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes with a range of fillings and toppings are perfect for lunchtime.

For a true taste of America, you can try The New Yorker, a classic giant hot dog served with fried onions, or the Texas hot dog, which is topped with bacon, cheese, grilled onions and a dash of BBQ sauce.

On the burger front, there are plenty of variations, including meat-free alternatives. According to the team, the most popular item on the menu is the Heart Attack Burger, served with two burger patties, bacon, egg, fried onion, salad and a choice of cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack or Blue Cheese).

Arizona Diner also offers a variety of steaks and homemade dishes, such as Lasagne, Chilli Con Carne and Chicken Fajita Wraps, and let’s not forget about desserts – classic Apple Pie, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Banana Split, pancakes and waffles are all featured on the menu.

The drinks offering is equally as delectable, encompassing soft drinks, hot drinks, wine, beer, spirits and liqueurs, cocktails and mocktails. Arizona Diner’s homemade milkshakes (available in Nutella, Lotus Biscoff, peanut butter, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and banana flavours) are a sought-after choice, and the restaurant also offers iced frappes and iced-blended smoothies.
