Young people looking for apprenticeships will have a simple one-stop shop to find all the best vacancies in Kent thanks to a new initiative being launched by the KM Group.
A new apprenticeships section of our Kent Jobs website has been launched today making searching for roles simpler and quicker.
Web users just need to visit KentJobs.co.uk/apprenticeships to find hundreds of vacancies across the county, supplied with the help of partners Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO), Kent Association of Further Education Colleges (KAFEC) and Kent County Council.
The move follows on from the success of the Kick Start Kent campaign, which has placed 122 apprentices with 88 different employers since it was launched in Kent Business in October last year.
As well as listing apprenticeships, the section will also list the latest traineeship opportunities being offered by employers across the county.
The KM Group’s head of commercial digital Steve Hamilton said: “We feel the pathway to identifying these roles is fragmented and we wanted to build a portal that will allow our audience to find these opportunities.
“We wanted to give something back ourselves to our communities by offering an opportunity for institutions and companies to advertise these roles on a well-known platform. We have worked tirelessly with Kent County Council, KATO and KAFEC to create a website which will serve the county.”
KATO operations director Lindsay Collins said: “We are really pleased to support this new website which raises awareness of apprenticeships for both young people and employers.
“It will be the one place in Kent where the majority of opportunities can be found. It will also show how apprenticeships can be studied at several different levels across more than 180 industries.”
Kent County Council’s skills and employability manager Martin Blincow said: “The website will help young people with the transition from education into employment.
“We want to make apprenticeships a real option and we are trying to make the it more transparent for young people to find where the opportunities are. We want to display where the real chances are to learn and earn.”
