A popular beer has been given a brand refresh by marketing chiefs in order to capitalise on summer sales.
Faversham brewery Shepherd Neame has given its Whitstable Bay range the revamp - with one variety getting a name change.
The label retains the image of the classic oyster yawl synonymous with Whitstable and anchors it alongside the town’s pub the Old Neptune.
Shepherd Neame head of marketing Joanna Richardson said: “The Old Neptune is one the few pubs in the UK actually situated on the beach and its beautiful location and quirky character have made it one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks.
“This much-loved pub has been incorporated into our branding along with the traditional oyster yawl - the boat was once a familiar sight in the bay.
“The Whitstable Bay Collection celebrates not only the place from which it takes its name but also the best in modern brewing.”
Whitstable Bay Pale Ale was launched in 2013. The collection has now grown to incorporate Organic Ale, Blonde Lager, Ruby Ale and Black Stout.
In addition to the refreshed look, Red IPA has been renamed Ruby Ale to better represent the character of the beer to consumers.
