COACH operator Buzzlines, of Lympne, has won a second contract with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer to become the company's primary transport provider in the UK.
The firm, based at the village's industrial park and headed by Kathryn and Nigel Busbridge, has agreed a 10-year deal with Pfizer's manufacturing and research and development site at Sandwich.
It was signed a few months after Buzzlines won an award for Pfizer for its Green transport provision for staff at its Surrey commercial headquarters.
Buzzlines is providing employee transport to and from work with pick-up points across East Kent including Canterbury, Thanet, Deal and Dover. The coaches and minibuses are scheduled to meet trains and public bus services and offer storage for bicycles for staff wishing to cycle at least one leg of their journey.
In addition, Buzzlines is providing on-site transport for visitors and cross-Channel crossings for employees needing to visit other offices in Europe.
Buzzlines has invested in 15 state-of-the-art vehicles for this contract and is meeting the Pfizer bus users group on a fortnightly basis for discussions about the service, maintaining the same drivers on each regular route to ensure good communication and monitoring all passenger use.
