The managing director of one of the county's top coach firms has won a prestigious award.

Ian Fraser, of the Gillingham-based Kings Ferry Travel Group, was named Manager of the Year for small and medium operators at the Routeone Awards.

The awards, revealed earlier this week, celebrate top performances in the UK coach and bus industry.

Mr Fraser beat off the challenges of three others on the shortlist.

He said: “It is a real privilege to have received this award and to work with an outstanding team at The Kings Ferry. The coach industry is highly competitive and we constantly strive to raise standards in all areas and provide customers with exceptional service. I am thrilled that our work has been recognised nationally in this way.”

He has been MD at the firm since 2014.

The Kings Ferry has been part of the National Express group since 2007.
