A waste and recycling business has landed £1.8 million of contracts.

Countrystyle has been given a three-year deal to take away rubbish at Canterbury Christ Church University.

The deal, worth about £1 million, will see it empty bins from 22 locations across its campuses in Canterbury, Chatham and Broadstairs.

Countrystyle has an £800,000 contract with Medway Norse, carrying out 7,900 general waste lifts a year and 2,000 recycling collections

Sales director Jamie Houston said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract against tough competition from other national waste companies.

“Canterbury Christ Church University is undergoing further expansion and it’s exciting for such a forward thinking company like Countrystyle to be associated with such a successful educational institution in Kent”.

Countrystyle will take on work previously shared between four contractors, carrying out 7,900 general waste lifts a year and 2,000 recycling collections.
