An electrical company has revealed they will invest over £1 million in a solar system at their Dartford headquarters.
Moss Electrical Co Ltd. announced the news after revealing that they had an increase in profit and sales turnover for their last financial year.
The group has seen significant improvement within the Solar PV market, something key figureheads within the firm believe is due to an increase in their domestic solar kits.
After seeing a 120% increase in sales turnover, topping £65 million in the last twelve months, Robert Moss, managing director, said: “We have experienced significant growth within the Solar PV market and this is mainly due to a volume increase in our domestic solar kit building services and six ground mount installations in excess of 100MW which were supplied and installed in the first quarter of this year.”
Mr Moss believes solar harnessed power will play an increasingly prominent part in the renewable energy market within the UK - he said: “The commercial installation sector is ripe for growth. More companies are realising the potential savings to be made through self-consumption. PV is a long-term investment, and high-quality product and technical support help customers make well-informed decisions.”
The company itself has noticed the benefits of solar energy and has invested £1 million on a 1.1MW solar roof, of which the power will be distributed back to the grid or used to supply to local busnesses.
Chris Homer, commercial director commented “After the successful installation of 50KW on the office flat roof, we are now investing in a solar system on the roof of our headquarters in Dartford, which we are funding ourselves. Cost of the system is in excess of £1m and returns generated throughout the lifespan of the system will result in a sound investment for Moss as it continues support for renewable technology.“
The project will reach completion by September, Sustain Commercial Solar have designed the system, as they continue to work alongside Moss Electrical.
