A LOCAL consulting engineer has won a top award. Francis Connolly, senior partner with Peter Brett Associates, of Kings Hill, West Malling, has received the Association of Consulting Engineers' accolade for his outstanding contribution to the engineering profession.

Judges praised Mr Connolly for his commitment, passion and dedication, describing him as "a true ambassador".

PBA, which employs 40 people, has been involved in flood prevention and reclamation work at Leybourne Lakes, projects for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, and Medway Valley Park, Rochester.
