Ever fancied owning your very own wine producing business? Well for £1.5million you can now do just that.

Artisan sparkling wine producer Barnsole, based in Staple, between Canterbury and Sandwich, is being sold "lock stock and barrel" after the current owners decided to retire.

The award-winning business has been run by Phillip and Sally Watts for the last 10 years.

Barnsole Vineyard is one of the oldest in Kent - with planting first started in 1993.

Today it grows varieties including Chardonnay, Pintot Noir and Bacchus. It is also trialling Wrotham Pinot, England's only indigenous vine, with the first wine expected to hit the shelves in 2024.

It currently grows, picks, presses and bottles on-site, offering a range of sparkling, white and red wines.

The property includes a recently upgraded purpose built winery which would allow production to increase from the current 20,000 bottles a year to 80,000.

It also attracts around 5,000 visitors a year for tastings and tours.

The sale includes the land, machinery and stock and related business Socket & Plug Ltd. The guide price is £1.5m.
